My name is Luc Paquette, and I’m at the beginning of my online business journey.
I decided to start this blog for a simple reason. I want somewhere I can document what I’m learning, share my progress, talk about the things that make sense to me, and hopefully help other beginners who might be trying to figure all of this out too.
I’m not writing this as an online marketing expert. I’m a beginner getting started with ClickBank affiliate marketing, and I know I have plenty to learn. But one thing I’m already starting to understand is that having the right starting point can make a big difference.
Why I Chose Affiliate Marketing
There are a lot of different ways to build a business online. The more you look, the more options you seem to find. You can create your own products, sell services, start an ecommerce business, build a YouTube channel, become a content creator, or explore dozens of other business models. For someone starting out, that can quickly become overwhelming. It sure did for me.
Affiliate marketing stood out to me because the basic idea is relatively easy to understand. Instead of creating my own product from scratch, I can promote products and services created by other businesses and potentially earn a commission when someone buys through my affiliate link. That gives me the opportunity to concentrate on learning the marketing side of the business. Of course, understanding the basic concept and actually building an online business are two different things.
I know there is work involved. I need to learn how to attract the right people, create useful content, build trust, understand email marketing, and become more consistent with what I do. That is part of the reason I’m starting this blog. I want to document that learning process rather than pretending I already know all the answers.
Why List Building Matters to Me
One of the biggest lessons I’ve picked up so far is the importance of building an email list.
When I first looked at affiliate marketing, the obvious approach seemed to be finding an offer, getting an affiliate link, and sending people directly to that offer. But there is a problem with that approach. If someone clicks my link, looks at the offer, and leaves without buying, I may never have another opportunity to communicate with that person. I’ve generated a click, but I haven’t built an asset.
That is why the idea of building an email list makes much more sense to me. Instead of thinking only about getting somebody to click an affiliate link today, I can start building a list of people who are interested in the type of information and opportunities I’m sharing. That gives me the ability to follow up. And follow-up matters because most people are not necessarily going to make a decision the first time they see something.
An email list also gives me something I can continue building over time. I’m still at the beginning, but I would rather put my effort into building an asset I have more control over instead of constantly sending traffic away and starting again with every new click.
Why I Joined The ClickBank Profit Club
This brings me to why I decided to join The ClickBank Profit Club. What interested me was not the idea of some magic system that would suddenly make everything easy. I don’t believe building a real online business works that way. What caught my attention was the model behind it.
The ClickBank Profit Club is built around the idea of building your email list while promoting an affiliate opportunity, rather than simply sending people straight to an affiliate offer and losing the lead. As a beginner, that makes sense to me. It also gives members training, a setup process, follow-up emails, and a clearer path to work through instead of having to figure out every piece from scratch.
That last part is important for me. When you are new, it is very easy to spend your time jumping from one video to another, trying different tools and listening to different strategies. Before long, you can have a huge amount of information but still have no idea what you should actually do next. I wanted something that could give me a starting point and a process to follow.
I also like the idea that I can learn about affiliate marketing, list building, email follow-up, content creation, and online business while actually putting those things into practice. I’m under no illusion that joining a membership automatically creates success. It doesn’t. But I finally feel as though I have a clear starting point.
What I’ll Be Doing Next
My next step is pretty simple. I’m going to learn the system, work through the training, get my setup in place, and start taking consistent action. I’ll also be using this blog to document the journey. That means I plan to share what I’m learning about ClickBank, affiliate marketing, list building, email marketing, generating traffic, creating content, and the challenges that come with trying to build something online as a beginner.
Some things will probably go well. Other things might take me longer to understand. That is exactly what I want this blog to reflect. I don’t want to create the impression that I have everything figured out. I would rather share the experience from where I actually am today and hopefully look back over time and see how much I’ve learned. If you’re also starting out, perhaps some of what I discover along the way will help you too.
